“I Care & Act”, a program aiming to create a society of active and responsible citizens, is currently implemented for the 4th year in a row. It is an innovative training program, envisioned by Desmos, and implemented by Desmos, in collaboration with “The Lambrakis Foundation”. Its aim is to foster volunteering, solidarity and active citizenship among the younger generation, in order for these values to become part of our everyday life.

The educational material is comprehensive, agile and has been especially formulated for the program in order to be relevant to all school grade levels. The program stands apart due to its focus on experiential activities, which renders it particularly effective, based on evaluations by external partners. Students, guided by their teachers, devise, plan, implement and evaluate alternative activities of giving to their society. Through this process, children are able to experience the joy of giving and changing the society they live in.

38,400 students and 2,760 teachers from 481 schools have participated in the program from 2015 to 2018. They cooperated and developed actions for social giving alongside over 1,600 organizations and social partners.

For 2018-2019, the program is being sponsored by “The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation”, “Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation” and THI Australia.

Starting this year, a key objective of the program is to encourage the active participation of the family in the experiential activities organized by students, as well as the adoption of solidarity, active citizenship and volunteering in everyday life.

This year, 173 schools from all over Greece are participating in the program.
