Marina Sotiriou

Marina is a dentist. She studied at London’s St. Bartholomew’s and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, where she got her degree in Dentistry (BDS). She continued her studies in Prosthetic Dentistry at New York University. While in New York, she worked for a year as a teaching fellow dentist at the NYU Clinic. In 2006 she returned to Athens and since then she’s been privately practicing dentistry. Marina is one of the founding members of Desmos.

DESMOS aims to coordinate the donating process between donors and organizations in need. Desmos does not attest to, or provide any guarantees regarding, the quality of the offered goods or their characteristics. Desmos designs and implements programs arising from financial donations by individuals, companies and charitable financial institutions aiming to meet the needs of vulnerable groups. In order to be able to sustainably run our programs, we need to cater for implementation costs such as research and update of needs, proposal compilation, implementation follow up, payments, financial and final reports to donors etc. The set policy of Desmos is to charge a 10% administrative fee after removing the applied 0.5% donation tax. Especially where individuals’ monetary donations up to 5.000 euros for combating the COVID-19 pandemic are concerned, Desmos waives its right to the aforementioned percentage and assumes the responsibility to absorb all administrative costs.
