In May 2025, Deloitte completed an impact assessment of the “Desmos for Youth” programme, evaluating its first four cycles. The study highlighted the programme’s significant contribution to youth employment (for young people up to the age of 30) and to strengthening the operational capacity of civil society organisations across Greece, capturing both its direct and indirect social and economic impact.

The “Desmos for Youth” programme funds 12-month paid positions within civil society organisations, offering young people meaningful professional experience—often their first—while at the same time enhancing the sustainability and effectiveness of organisations that support vulnerable groups on a daily basis.

The study also demonstrated the initiative’s strong economic multiplier effect: for every €1 spent on the programme’s operations, €11.7 was reinvested back into the Greek economy, generating a total of €1.4 million in economic activity for the period 2016–2024. This finding confirms that investing in young people strengthens communities and creates tangible added value for society and the economy.
